The electric revolution isn’t just confined to the four-wheeled world. It has also found its way into the motorcycle world, giving riders a chance to future-proof their motorcycles and help the environment with just a little bit of power.
Electric bikes, like electric cars, can still be very fast and very powerful. To demonstrate this, we’ve collected ten of the best and most potent electric motorcycles currently on sale to showcase just how good they can be.
KTM Freeride E-XC

Starting at the lower end of the scale, we have the incredible KTM Freeride E-XC. This little beast isn’t road-legal, as it is designed for off-roading, but it has all the power needed to handle rugged terrain.
It has just 24.5 horsepower, but that’s enough for it to reach up to 50 mph. It is also light, weighing just 245 lbs, making it great fun to throw around some adventure trails. As far as off-road electric bikes go, this KTM is a real winner.
Maeving RM1

As far as looks go, the Maeving RM1 is one of the best we have seen so far. This British motorcycle, born out of a Coventry-based company, not only gives us a bike with zero emissions but also one that excites us just by looking at it.
It has a maximum range of 40 miles and a top speed of 45 mph. That isn’t much, but this excellent machine is so good to look at we had to include it on this list.
Arc Vector

The Arc Vector is a very impressive electric bike. It has up to 270 miles of range, yet with a rapid charger, it takes just 40 minutes to charge. Thanks to its superb powertrain, it has 115 horsepower underneath its cladding. However, it is pricey, costing upwards of $100,000.
The Vector is very much a bike for those of which money is no object. You could argue that this is the ultimate electric leisure bike, and it does show just how far electric motorcycles have come in recent years.
Livewire S2 DEL MAR

If you want reasonable power from your electric motorcycle but aren’t willing to spend a small fortune, then the Livewire S2 DEL MAR might be the one for you. With up to 86 miles of range, it’s also the perfect EV for commuting to work or running around town.
Priced at around $17,000, the S2 DEL MAR has 83 horsepower and a charging time of just over an hour from zero to 80 percent. Torque delivery is superb, the bike is comfortable, and it is brilliant in the corners.
Triumph TE-1

Triumph has been synonymous with motorcycles since 1902, so it’s probably no surprise that the British manufacturer is joining the electric motorcycle bandwagon. Its best effort thus far, having recently passed final testing, is the striking-looking Triumph TE-1.
Thanks to a collaboration between Triumph and Williams Advanced Engineering (WAE), the TE-1 can charge from zero to 80 percent in just 20 minutes. It can also do 0-100 mph in just 6.2 seconds and, with its superb powertrain, push up to 175 horsepower.
Kawasaki Z EV

The very impressive Kawasaki Z EV made its debut in 2023. It formed part of a duo that also included the Kawasaki Ninja EV. The Japanese manufacturer calls the Z EV a “mid-capacity style machine with more rider features” than its other electric rivals.
The electric powertrain has plenty of torque to push out of the corners, and I can push up to 80 mph when in its standard ROAD mode. It’s a brilliant-looking motorcycle that we love.
Italian Volt Lacama

Think of the impressive Lacama as the MV Agusta of the electric motorcycle world. At the moment, details on this remarkable machine are scarce, but a few juicy bits of information have been made available to us.
The bike will have a top speed of 143 mph and a maximum range of 160 miles. If that wasn’t im[ressive enough, the Lacama should have 149 horsepower, and it will be made compatible with a wide array of charging systems and infrastructure.
Tacita T-Cruise Urban S

Tacita is a company worth paying attention to. They are one of the few electric bike manufacturers that have really listened to consumer feedback, and the T-Cruise Urban S is an excellent example of what the company is able to achieve.
Under the hood, it has a very impressive three-phase asynchronous induction motor. This provides up to 45 horsepower and a range of 140 miles. Its top speed is currently a mystery, but its weight of 461 lbs should ensure it’s a beast in the corners.
Untitled Motorcycles UMC-063 XP Zero

The Untitled Motorcycles UMC-063 XP Zero is one of the most outrageous electric motorcycles currently on the road. It’s simple, practical, and raw, and its swiftness adds to its good qualities.
The UMC-063 XP Zero pushes 110 horsepower and 140 lb-ft of torque. its acceleration is simply incredible, and the company itself describes it as “as fast as a Ferrari F40.” That might be a stretch, but there is no denying how impressive a machine the XP Zero is shaping up to be.
Lightning LS-218

If a bike ever had the power and performance to back up its name, it’s surely the Lightning LS-218. This insane machine is one of the fastest production motorcycles ever built, shooting out 244 horsepower and a staggering 220 lb-ft of torque.
This leads to a 0-60 mph time of just two seconds. The top speed is a crazy 218 mph, and with the bike weighing just 495 lbs, you really feel every bit of its acceleration. It might be too much for the average rider, but it’s perfect for thrill seekers and EV fans.
