Certain cars can attract a lot of attention. High-performance cars and supercars are the most likely to get people looking at you and staring; however, it’s also possible that the cops might take a shine to whatever you are driving.

Some cars, however, that cops will pull you over for will take you by surprise. Certain performance pickup trucks and sedans can attract the attention of the law, as well as a few hot hatchbacks.

This list contains 13 cars that are almost guaranteed to get you pulled over by a cop. It will come as no surprise that the vast majority of these cars have speed at their heart, as well as plenty of power and noise.

RAM 1500 TRX

It might not surprise people to learn that the RAM 1500 TRX would attract the attention of the law. The TRX is the high-performance version of the RAM 1500, and 2024 marks the final year of the monster pickup. Power comes from a massive supercharged Hemi 6.2-liter V8 engine, producing 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque.

Cops will likely keep a close eye on you if you drive this truck. The 1500 TRX can go from 0 to 60 mph in just under four seconds and complete the quarter-mile in less than 13 seconds.

Kia Stinger

It might come as a surprise to learn that a Kia could gain some attention from the cops. Part of that will be down to its aggressive design, with the sporty-looking sedan quite the departure from the majority of Kia’s vehicles.

The Stinger went out of production in 2023, but it did so with a bang. The twin-turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine produced 255 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The larger twin-turbocharged 3.3-liter V6 produced even more with 365 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque.

Bugatti Veyron

If a cop sees you drive past in a Bugatti Veyron, they will likely have their eye on you. The Bugatti supercar has an incredible 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged Volkswagen W16 engine under the hood, capable of over 1,100 horsepower. This would quickly propel the Veyron to a top speed of 253 mph.

Bugatti produced the Veyron from 2005 to 2015. During that time, it made 450 units in total, and the Veyron has become one of the most sought-after high-performance cars of the modern era.

Toyota GR86

It might be more understated than some sports cars, but the Toyota GR86 can still attract its fair share of attention from the police forces. The GR86 is a fast and agile sports car with a starting MSRP of just $29,300, which also makes it one of the most affordable on the market.

Its power comes from a 2.4-liter boxer engine that makes 228 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. That is enough to make any cop worried should they encounter you going at speed.

Dodge Charger

Nearly any muscle car on the market may be going to attract the law’s attention. While it may no longer be in production, the Dodge Charger remains a monster, even more so if it is in SRT Hellcat form.

If you opt for the Dodge Charger SRT Redeye Jailbreak, you will find a supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8 under the hood, producing 807 horsepower and 707 lb-ft of torque. That massive V8 also produces one of the most extraordinary sounds of any modern performance car.

Volkswagen Golf GTI

While it might be understated compared to some of the cars on this list, the Volkswagen Golf GTI can still attract the attention of caps. In fact, according to Insurify, it is one of the most ticketed cars of 2024, showing they must be driven in a certain way to attract attention.

The Golf GTI lacks the power of a supercar, but it is still a punchy machine and one of the most agile hot hatches on the market. It makes the perfect choice for enthusiasts who are perhaps on a bit more of a budget.

Ferrari F40

If any classic car is going to attract the attention of the police, it will be the Ferrari F40. Many still view the 1980s Ferrari as the greatest car to come out of Maranello, and it was certainly no slouch either.

Under the hood was a twin-turbocharged Tipo F120A/F120D V8 engine. In models sold in North America, this produced 477 horsepower with other versions in Europe making 471 horsepower. The F40 produces a sensational, screaming soundtrack, and it provides one of the rawest driving experiences of any supercar.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evo

Any Mitsubishi Lancer Evo could attract the attention of the cops. Japanese sports cars are renowned for their speed and agility, plus they are heaven for tuners and enthusiasts. The potential in any Lancer is incredible, with tuners able to extract extra power from the car.

The Lancer Evo was produced over several generations, from 1992 to 2016, before it ceased production. It was a fierce rival to the Subaru Impreza WRX, and power came from various 2.0-liter inline-four turbocharged engines.

Having mentioned the Lancer Evo, we have to mention its fierce Subaru rival. Subaru began producing the Impreza WRX in 1992, and they replaced the Subaru RX in both its hatchback and saloon form. The debut WRX had a 263.7 horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine under the hood.

Subaru has continued to evolve the car over the years. The 1994 model saw a power increase to 256 horsepower, with that increasing to 276 horsepower in 1996. Based on the company’s World Rally Championship car, the Impreza WRX remains one of the best homologation specials ever made.

Hyundai Genesis Coupe

It might not have the credentials or sharp looks of some of the cars on this list, but the Hyundai Genesis Coupe is still an exceptional sports car and an underrated one. Plus, its clean and subtle lines are quite refreshing compared to some other performance vehicles.

Its clean looks hide the fact that under the hood, the Genesis Coupe has up to 420 horsepower available from its various V6 engines, the biggest being the 3.8-liter Lambda II RS GDi. A six-speed manual transmission also means the car is a gearheads dream.

Ferrari Purosangue

The Ferrari Purosangue is likely to get you pulled over based solely on how unusual it looks. An SUV with a Ferrari badge? Technically, it isn’t an SUV, as Ferrari refuses to call it that. They say it is a Ferrari Utility Vehicle or FUV, but in reality, the Purosangue is the Prancing Horse’s first-ever SUV.

It’s certainly no slouch, either. Its power comes from a 6.5-liter F140 IA V12 engine, making 715 horsepower. It is one of the most impressive SUVs on the market, even if there are far too many currently on sale.

Ford Mustang

Any Ford Mustang will get the attention of the law, given the credentials of the muscle car. However, the newest Mustang might attract even more attention, especially in Dark Horse form. The Dark Horse has a huge 5.0-liter Coyote V8 under the hood, creating 500 horsepower.

Yet one other Mustang might attract more attention. The upcoming 2025 Mustang GTD is an aero-laden, supercar version of the famous muscle car. It packs a huge supercharged V8 engine that will produce at least 800 horsepower. Its design alone would be enough for the cops to pull you over.

Ford F-150 Raptor R

Ever since Ford introduced the modern F-150 Raptor, the Blue Oval has seen constant demand from its customers to create a V8-powered version of the pickup truck. The power comes from a 5.2-supercharged V8 engine, delivering 700 horsepower and 540 lb-ft of torque.

The Raptor R is a direct response to the RAM 1500 TRX, although ironically, 2024 is the final year of production for the RAM pickup truck. The Raptor R isn’t just a monster on tarmac; it’s also handy when it comes to off-road performance.
