Cruisers are some of the most enjoyable motorcycles to ride. They combine speed and power with comfort and smooth riding and are excellent for long-distance adventures across the United States.

However, some can be pretty expensive, but luckily, you can pick up a handful of cruisers for around $10,000 or less. This list contains ten of the best, available at a reasonable price, that still provide plenty of spills and thrills.

2021 Royal Enfield Meteor 350

While it might only have 350 cc, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 deserves its place on this list. True, it produces just 17.4 horsepower and 18.2 lb-ft of torque. But this is a cruiser that you can buy for less than $5,000 and one that looks excellent as well.

The Meteor is an incredibly easy-going machine, thanks to its smooth-riding qualities and superb suspension. It’s also light, making it handy in the corners, and it’s one of the best ways to get into the cruiser segment.

Harley-Davidson Iron 1200

A list of bargain cruisers would only be complete with at least one Harley-Davidson making it. The Iron 1200 does fall into this category as it is available for a shade under $10,000, but it is worth every penny.

Its 1,202 cc V-Twin engine is a masterpiece, allowing you to sprint away from the red lights, launch into corners, and cruise down the highway at speed. It’s a stunning-looking bike, too, and remarkably, it cost less than $10,000.

2021 Harley-Davidson Iron 883

Another excellent Harley-Davidson is the Iron 883, a bike that deserves a place on this list based on looks alone. It’s a very bare-bones motorcycle, with its low seat and minimal bodywork, but it’s a design that pulls off to perfection.

It’s a lightweight machine with an 883 cc air-cooled engine that produces one of the best sounds of any modern Harley-Davidson. You can pick one of these up second-hand for around $9,000, which, to us, is a bargain.

2022 Triumph Street Twin

British manufacturer Triumph can more than match its American rival when it comes to high-speed cruisers. Plus, what makes the Street Twin even better is its retro design, which stays faithful to the Triumph motorcycles of the 1960s and 1970s.

Power comes from a 900 cc high-torque twin-engine, producing up to 64 horsepower. That is plenty for most daily riders, and it makes the Street Twin very user-friendly for regular use.

Honda Shadow Phantom

If you buy any Honda motorcycle, you know you will get one of the most reliable ever made. Honda’s last a lifetime, and the brilliant Shadow Phantom is no exception. It takes its power from a 645 cc liquid-cooled 52-degree V-Twin engine, fed by three valves per cylinder.

The 40 horsepower and 40 lb-ft of torque might not sound like a lot. But in a bike that weighs just over 500 lbs, that is plenty. Plus, the Shadow Phantom is silky smooth on the road, meaning you can ride it over long distances in absolute comfort.

2022 Indian Scout Bobber Sixty/Scout

Indian is another legendary American motorcycle manufacturer. The 2022 model of the Bobber Sixty/Scout has become a bit of a bargain now, available for less than $9,000 and with a superb 60 ci liquid-cooled engine producing 78 horsepower in the frame.

The Sixty/Scout is an amazing-looking machine, thanks to its classic styling and the massive twin exhaust setup down the side of the motorcycle. Few modern bikes can rival it in looks.

Kawasaki Vulcan S

One thing you are guaranteed with a Japanese motorcycle is reliability. That is no different with the Kawasaki Vulcan S, an exceptional bike with a parallel twin between the frame producing 61 horsepower and 46.5 lb-ft of torque.

This is thanks to its 649 cc air-cooled engine, which, with its parallel twin arrangement, makes it an outlier in the cruiser bike world. This engine is derived from the excellent Ninja 650 and has also found its way into the Versys 650 and Z650.

2021 Yamaha Bolt R-Spec

Yamaha is another Japanese manufacturer that knows a thing or two about cruisers. Unfortunately, the 2021 Bolt R-Spec was the sole cruiser remaining in its lineup, and for around $8,000, it is quite a good deal in 2024.

The Bolt R-Spec’s power comes from a 949 cc air-cooled V-Twin engine, producing up to 51 horsepower. As is usually the case with Yamaha, the engine is smooth and robust, and its simplicity makes it such an excellent cruiser.

2019 Suzuki S40

The Suzuki S40, formerly known as the Savage, has been part of the Japanese manufacturer’s range for over 35 years. It’s one of the best chopper-style bikes on the market, and it’s one of the few that retains that chopper styling.

Its longevity in the market is a result of Suzuki’s introducing minimal changes over the years. Why fix something if it isn’t broken? This extends to the bulletproof air-cooled 652 cc single-cylinder engine that powers the S40, which you can now pick up second-hand for around $5,000.

Honda CB650

This bike does stretch the ‘cruiser’ moniker a little bit, but it’s still a superb bike for the occasional longer ride. The CB650 is, of course, reliable, being a Honda. But it also produces a superb amount of horsepower thanks to its silky smooth inline-four.

The liquid-cooled four-cylinder engine produces an excellent 94 horsepower and 46 lb-ft of torque. Without fuel or a rider on it, the bike only weighs 456 lbs, and it’s convenient, too, thanks to the positioning of its handlebars and the semi-automatic transmission.
