Actor Jerry Seinfeld is one of the biggest names in American acting history. He is most famous for his role in the NBC sitcom Seinfeld, named after himself, which aired from 1989 to 1998. However, aside from his acting, Seinfeld is also a big car guy.
The money he has earned over the years has allowed Seinfeld to build up an excellent collection of vehicles. This list contains ten of the best of those cars, showcasing his love for all things automotive. Seinfeld owns everything from classic Porsches, which dominate his collection, to some classic muscle cars.
Lamborghini Miura
Seinfeld owns around 150 cars, worth around $100 million. While many of them are classic Porsches, he also owns a few exotics, including the Lamborghini Miura. Introduced in 1966, the Miura is widely considered the world’s first supercar.
The Miura’s power came from a 3.9-liter V12 engine, producing 350 horsepower and a top speed of 171 mph. It is one of the most valuable cars ever made, and following its success, Lamborghini replaced it with the Countach in the 1970s.
1955 Porsche 550 Spyder
One of Seinfeld’s most treasured possessions is his 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder. Porsche made just 90 of them, making them exceptionally rare. It was also the German manufacturer’s first purpose-built race car.
The 550 Spyder’s power came from a 1.5-liter DOHC flat-four engine, capable of 108 horsepower and 89 lb-ft of torque. In the 1950s, these were impressive numbers, and the 550 Spyder was very agile, as it only weighed 1,212 lbs. With so few made, the 550 Spyder can sell for as much as $5 million at auctions.
1970 Targa Florio-Winning Porsche 908/03 (Chassis Number 008)
While Seinfeld has faster and more exotic Porsches in his collection, this 1970 Porsche 908/03 might be the most significant. This car, chassis number 008, won the 1970 Targa Florio, one of the most famous road races in the world.
The Targa-Florio Porsche differed slightly from the regular production car. It was lighter than its road-going cousin, and its 30 cm overhang on the front gave it a unique appearance. It is perhaps one of the most important cars in Porsche’s history.
2017 Acura NSX
Seinfeld might love his classics, but he also has a place for some more modern vehicles at home. One of them is a 2017 Acura NSX, which is the second generation of the NSX, following on from the classic of 1990-2005.
The new NSX was vastly different from its predecessor. Under the hood was a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6, paired with three electric motors to produce 573 horsepower combined. Despite its speed and prowess, the NSX struggled to sell because of its price, and Honda pulled production in 2022 with the special edition, 602 horsepower Type S.
1957 Fiat 500
Most of Seinfled’s cars are flashy, powerful, and punchy sports cars. However, he has a few quirky classics as well, including a gorgeous 1957 Fiat 500. Produced by the Italian manufacturer from 1957 to 1975, the Fiat 500 was a quaint little city car available to the masses and perfect for getting around town.
Power was provided by a range of inline-two engines, peaking with the 594 cc inline-two and the 500 produced up to 22 horsepower. It was not enough to trouble a Ferrari, of course, but there were plenty of families to go on short days out in the countryside and get around town.
1976 Lamborghini Countach
Seinfeld clearly loves Lamborghinis and recognizes the significance of the Miura’s legacy. Because of that, he also has a Lamborghini Countach in his collection, with his being a 1976 LP400 version in almost all-original condition.
The 1976 LP400’s power comes from a 3.9-liter V12, which makes 375 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. The original Countach’s legacy is so great that Lamborghini brought it back in 2022 with a modern, hybrid reincarnation, using the Siak FKP 37 as its basis.
1986 Porsche 959
Perhaps the most impressive Porsche Seinfeld owns is his 1986 Porsche 959. This Porsche aimed to rewrite what was possible in the supercar world, and the German manufacturer saw it as the performance car of the future.
When it launched in 1986, the 959 was the fastest production car in the world, with a top speed of 197 mph. Its power came from a mighty 2.8-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six, making 444 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. Porsche only made 345 959s, making them one of the rarest to leave the Stuttgart factory.
2014 Porsche 918 Spyder
Another equally incredible Porsche in Seinfeld’s collection is his 2014 Porsche 918 Spyder. The 918 Spyder burst onto the scene in 2013 as part of the holy trinity of hypercars that also included the Ferrari LaFerrari and the McLaren P1.
Of the trio, the 918 is perhaps the most intelligent. Under the hood, it has a 4.6-liter V8, which, paired with two electric motors, makes 875 horsepower combined. The engine in the 918 Spyder was based on what Porsche used in its RS Spyder Le Mans racer, and its hybrid technology benefited Porsche in its upcoming LMP1 919 program, which began in 2014.
2000 Porsche Carrera GT Prototype
Seinfled loves the Porsche Carrera GT. So much so that he actually owns one of the two fully functioning prototypes Porsche built for the supercar in 2000. Seinfeld also had a production 2004 example of the Carrera GT, but he sold that one in 2011.
The prototype Carrera GT has a 5.5-liter DOHC V10 under the hood, making 558 horsepower. Its six-speed manual makes it an enthusiast’s dream. Many say that the Carrera GT is the greatest vehicle Porsche has ever made. That is quite a claim, given how much love there is for the Porsche 911.
1955 mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing
As a lover of classic cars, I find it no surprise that Seinfeld owns a 1955 Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing. Developed from the W194 race car, the 300 SL was a vast improvement on its predecessor. Its mechanical direct fuel injection system boosted the power of the 3.0-liter overhead-cam M198 straight-six engine.
The 300 SL reached top speeds of up to 162 mph, and its gullwing doors became its most iconic feature. Thanks to its lightweight tubular-frame construction, the 300 SL was also light, weighing a maximum of 3,660 lbs. While performance was its focal point, the 300 SL also had a gorgeous and comfortable interior, with leather seats available as an option over the standard fabric ones.
